The Anglo-Saxon tradition of taking in Blogturistico Pancakes
We've talked here of some Anglo-Saxon traditions , how to celebrate Mother's Day or your Easter .Today we stop in a tradition known as Pancake Day , Pancake Tuesday or Shrove Day .
The Pancake Day is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday. That is, the day that for countries likeSpain is known as Shrove Tuesday. The tradition is to make pancakes, which we know as crepes or pancakes.
The reason why this day is celebrated by eating pancakes is because in countries like England or Ireland , during Lent (period comprising between Wednesday ceniz to and Easter ) is not usually eat eggs, dairy products or meat. The pancakes are made from milk, eggs and sugar, so it is a preparation for those days which according to tradition these foods are eaten.
Pancake Day is celebrated in countries like Ireland, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and parts of the United States .
